Michael MacKinnon, President/Owner
Michael MacKinnon is the president and owner of MacKinnon Property Management (formerly MacKinnon Landscaping est. 1972). In the late 1980's he started managing a few private homes before taking over the business from his father, Sandy MacKinnon, in 1995. By playing an active role in all aspects of the business, he has been able to turn it into one of the largest full service property management companies in Southern Maine and New Hampshire. Michael is a partner in the ShorMac Corporation, a real-estate investment company. As well as a partner for Real Property Resolution Corporation where he helps find resolutions for non-performing real estate assets.
Michael was born in Rhode Island but has been living in Southern Maine for most of his life. He grew up in the Kennebunk/Wells area and graduated from Wells High School, later attending the University of Southern Maine.
Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Julie and their three charming children. He also enjoys watching his children in sporting events, working around their house, going on cruises, playing soccer with his wife, golfing, skiing, boating, camping and just relaxing.
Julie MacKinnon, Vice President/Owner/Property Manager
Julie moved from Defiance, Ohio to Kennebunk with her family in 4th grade and never had a desire to leave. After meeting Michael a month before graduation from Kennebunk High, her college plans changed. They were married a year later and now have three lovely children.
Julie started out mowing lawns with Michael more than twenty years ago and has worked on and off for the family business when not in school, teaching or staying at home with their children. She has been back with MacKinnon Property Management on a daily basis since 2003. Her duties include management of rental properties and condominium associations along with the daily issues of a small business.
With a degree in elementary education from University of Southern Maine, it's not surprising that she enjoys volunteering in her children's classrooms on a weekly basis. She also enjoys dates with her husband, playing with her kids, gardening, surfing, playing soccer, skiing and hanging out by the pool.
Keith Lefebvre, General Manager
In March 2013 Keith began working at MacKinnon Property Management. Keith has been a part of the Southern Maine area his whole life. He grew up in Biddeford and graduated from the local high school there. He also went on to complete 2 1/2 years of college at USM & UNE. His duties with the company are to oversee the staff, manage his assigned complexes, and insure that our properties are maintained to our client’s standards. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife Sue, adult daughter, and two
adult step children. He and his wife try to take a vacation to a warm climate once a year. His other hobbies include working around his house, and playing hockey or golf.
Dan MacLeod, Property Manager
Dan has worked for the MacKinnon family in a variety of roles over the past 15 years. His current responsibilities include managing 4 area condominiums and assisting at other condominium complexes and personal estates. Dan works a "flexible" winter schedule which fits nicely into his teaching responsibilities and works full time during the summer.
Dan and his wife Joanne have 4 young children (2 boys and 2 girls). Joanne is a massage therapist and a personal trainer. Spending time with his family, playing golf, basketball, softball, ice fishing, snowmobiling and watching his younger Brother's band play are a few of his favorite things to do.
Melissa Jackson, Bookkeeper
Melissa's responsibilities include all bookkeeping duties, management of accounts, and assisting clients. She earned her degree in accounting in 1991. She came to work for MacKinnon Property Management in 2001 after previously working in the accounting field.
Melissa grew up and has lived most of her life in Southern Maine. She currently resides in Wells with her son Kyle. During her free time she keeps busy spending time with her son and taking care of their home. She enjoys reading, movies, traveling to new places and visiting with friends.
Rebecca R. Mankin, Assistant Property Manager
Becky came on board with MacKinnon Property Management in January 2007. She has lived in Kennebunk her whole life and is extremely familiar with the area and has watched it grow. She graduated from Kennebunk High School and received an Associates Degree from Westbrook College, in Portland, Maine. Her role at MacKinnon Property Management is quite varied, being a Property Manager Assistant to Julie and working closely with Dan managing a 140 member Home Owners Association.
Becky loves to go to the beach in the summer and snuggle by the fire in the winter with her daughter.
Cynthia Cyr, Administrative Assitant
Cynthia began working with MacKinnon Property Management in June of 2011. She has lived in the Southern Maine area her whole life. She graduated from Biddeford High School and received an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies from McIntosh College in Dover, NH in 2005. Her role at MacKinnon Property Management is to assist Mike with a 227 unit seasonal complex that he manages as well as any other assistance Mike may need or job he may have for her to do. She also assists Keith with two of his complexes and as begun to manage two complexes herself. Cynthia also answers the phones, makes sure the office runs smoothly and is tidy, and has taken on the organization of the MacKinnon Property Management Website, Facebook page and the many charity events MacKinnon organizes and is involved in.
Cynthia's biggest passion in life is her two young sons, Zachary & Bricyn. She enjoys being a hands on mom from homework, sporting events, or school functions to fishing and building forts out of blankets. As a working mom she doesn't have much time to herself but when she does get free time she enjoys the beach, sports, cooking, reading, and spending time with her friends & family.
